CDFD worker gets stabbed by junior over promotion row

Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a junior employee stabbed and injured a senior of the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) in the office premises.

According to media reports, M P Sharma had allegedly attacked his senior K V Rao (55) on suspicion he was responsible for him not getting promotion.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the Section Officer had given Sharma low ratings in performance review and he did not get promotion and salary increment because of that. He picked up a quarrel with the victim and allegedly stabbed him with a butcher knife around 1 pm yesterday. Rao was later admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A police case has been registered and further investigations are on.
