Chennai: The growth of Anna Nagar in the past ten years is high. Many old buildings are demolished and constructed newly as apartments. The demand for concrete mixers is high, so the owners of these machines finds a place within the locality which cause hindrances to the resident vehicles.
“Anyone can find concrete mixers in the inner roads of Anna Nagar East, especially near the vacant plots and government buildings on Second Main Road, Anna Nagar East. The usage of these machines has been increased recently due to new building projects,” says Ravindran, a resident of Anna Nagar.
“These concrete mixers vehicles are parked in both residential and non-residential areas. There is no one to question these vehicles owners. The machines were taken to the construction only for few days, later it was parked in the same place,” he added.
Ganesh, a motorist says, these vehicles are parked at the corner of the streets which is posing hindrance and danger to other motorist in the night. Many complaints has been given to the local authorities but still now no action was taken against these owners.
“While repairing these machines, it is dragged to the middle of the road or to the common place. The government is leaving parking for the vehicles parking on main roads why not to these type of vehicles,” he added.
“Most of these vehicles are belongs to the builders, so it is used at the time of construction and parked here in the rest of days. They don’t bother about the local residents who finds difficult to park their vehicles in front of their houses,” says Janani, a longtime resident.
She also mentioned that the machines used for laying roads are also parked in the inner roads. Whenever the road projects is started, these road laying machines are moved from here. But, the concrete mixers are not like that, it is parked here for a long time.
