Stalin slams AIADMK over Talaq Bill, calls it BJP’s clone

Chennai: “Palaniswami and Panneerselvam could join the BJP and should at the least from now on stop deceiving the Tamil Nadu people by having the separate name of AIADMK,” said DMK President M K Stalin slamming the ruling party in the State over the triple talaq bill.

His statement comes a day after AIADMK’s MP in Lok Sabha P Raveendranath Kumar backed the Bill on Thursday. Raveendranath had said it was not a matter of majority or minority, but of humanity.

Referring to this, Stalin said AIADMK has become one with BJP’s ideology and its clone. He questioned the AIADMK for changing its stand on the Bill although it had opposed it in Parliament last December.

K Palaniswami and O Panneerselvam have handed over the party to the BJP on a perpetual lease Raveendranath’s stance on the Bill was an artificial justification and it showed the double standards of the dual leadership of the ruling party.

He further flayed the AIADMK by saying that the party’s refrain to never compromise on the rights of minorities was a lip service and this was exposed when the party supported the talaq bill.

He further said the ruling party needs to change its name as it was functioning on the lines of BJP and RSS ideology. By supporting the amendment Bills to the Motor Vehicles and the Right to Information Acts in Parliament the AIADMK has became the very clone of the BJP, slammed Stalin.
