Stalin slams prominence given to Sanskrit in TN school book

Chennai: Leader opposition in the Assembly and DMK president M K Stalin yesterday slammed the prominence given to Sanskrit over Tamil language in class 12 textbook in the State.

“Such a thing will only happen in a regime that has smeared itself with saffron hue, is this Tamil Nadu government or Sanskrit sarkar,” tweeted Stalin.

He was referring to a English textbook which had a reference saying that Tamil was 2,300 years old and Sanskrit 4,000 years. The DMK leader questioned how this could be tolerated.
