Embarrassed over police inquiry, woman in Chennai ends life

Chennai: A woman ended her life at T Nagar in the city after she was quizzed along with her daughter and son-in-law by the police.

According to sources, Parvathy (46), lived with her husband Chandrasekar, an auto driver. She worked at a hotel in Thanikachalam Road. She has a daughter Kavitha and son Kamalraj.

Kavitha’s husband Subashchandra Bose had borrowed money from his relative Manikandan. When he failed to return it, Manikandan filed a police complaint. Following this, Pondy Bazaar police summoned Kavitha, Subash and Parvathy.

Parvathy was allegedly upset over having to visit a police station. This morning she committed suicide. Police sent her body to Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital for post mortem.
