Rs 60 lakh worth red sanders seized, two held in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The city police yesterday seized Rs 60 lakh red sanders and arrested two men on charges of smuggling. The officials also seized two sports utility vehicles and packaging materials from them.

A media report said the accused Shaikh Anees, 41, and Mohammed Iqbal, 40, were alleged international red sanders smugglers. While Anees is a resident of Hoskote, Iqbal is from Sulya in Dakshina Kannada district.

The men smuggled red sanders from the southern Indian States to foreign countries. They were recently arrested for storing red sanders illegally at Vidyaranyapura.
