Two men held for killing rowdy in Chennai

Chennai: The city police have arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a history-sheeter at Nerkundram on Saturday.

The accused were identified as Dinesh (21) and Akash Raj (20) of Perumal Koil Street, Nerkundram. A hunt is on for four more persons who were involved in killing Ranjith (22) of Annai Abirami Nagar. He was found dead with greivous injuries.

Investigations revealed that Ranjith consumed alcohol with his friends on Saturday and an argument broke out as to who was the most daring among them.

Ranjith, who was arrested last year by Poonamallee police for attacking a constable claimed he was the most courageous. The argument took an ugly turn with the gang hitting Ranjith with a stone and stabbing him with a beer bottle. Koyambedu police traced the duo with their phone signals.
