Karnataka leaders condole Swaraj’s demise

Bengaluru: Several party leaders in Karnataka expressed their condolence over the death of BJP leader Sushma Swaraj last night.

JDS supremo and former prime minister H D Devegowda in tweeted that he was deeply saddened by the demise of former union minister and ex chief minister of Delhi. He said that it was a loss to the nation.

Expressing his sorrow, tate BJP leader and Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa said the nation mourns the loss of one of the strongest leaders and finest spokespersons the country has seen. He said that Swaraj inspired many women to enter politics and praised her work as the minister of external affairs.

Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy tweeted, “I’m shocked to learn about the sudden demise of Former Chief Minister of Delhi, Former Union Minister Sushma Swaraj Ji. May her soul rest in peace. My condolences to her family and loved ones.”

Congress legislative party leader Siddaramaiah said he was deeply shocked after hearing the news of her death.

Several other leaders, including Union minister D V Sadananda Gowda, Congress state president Dinesh Gundu Rao, Congress working president Eshwar Khandre, expressed their grief.
