Chennai: Several political leaders cutting across party lines conveyed their condolence after veteran BJP leader Sushma Swaraj passed away yesterday at the age of 67.
DMK president M K Stalin hailed her for scaling new heights in public life with by her efficient work. “She brought laurels by her efficient work in whatever responsibility she held,” he tweeted, conveying his condolence to her family and BJP.
Pattali Makkal Katchi chief S Ramadoss pointed out at her achievements. He said Swaraj was a minister in Haryana when she was 25 years old and went on to become a Union Cabinet Minister when she was 41 and that she served as the chief minister of Delhi.
The State BJP president Tamilisai Soundarajan conveyed her condolence and expressed her grief over the former External affairs minister’s death. She tweeted, “While words fail, with choking emotions tearful eyes I submit my heart felt condolences to our departed leader former External Affairs Minister honb @SushmaSwaraj madam you will remain in our hearts for ever as you were our role model women leader. Om shanthi RIP.”
