‘100% Kadhal’ will be a thorough entertainer: G V Prakash

Chennai: “100% Kadhal is a film that is not only for the youngsters but will appeal to audience of all age groups,” said GV Prakashkumar at the audio launch of his film 100% Kadhal.

The film is a remake of Telugu hit 100% Love, directed by Sukumar which was released in 2011, starring Thamannah and Naga Chaitanya in lead roles. The film is remade in Tamil by director Chandramouli and produced by the film’s original director Sukumar, starring Shalini Pandey and GV Prakash, who also couples up as music director.

Speaking during the audio launch, GV Prakash said, “100% Love created a big record in Telugu and Sukumar is one of my favourite directors. I am so happy to have acted in his film’s remake in which he is the producer. I wish that he directs a film in Tamil in future. I thank the film crew and the actors for being part of the film. Everyone worked as a family in this film and this will be a lovely film which is not only for youngsters and will appeal to audience of all age groups.”

“It is almost one-and-half years that we have shot for this film and it was a long journey so everybody in the film became a family. I would like to thank all the technical crew because it is all their effort which is going to come out. Thank you to director Chandramouli who believed that I could do this character. Thanks to GV for being a supportive actor and a friend. The way he helped me when I had problems with Tamil was of immense help.”

Speaking about the film director VV Chandramouli says, “This film started only because of director Sukumar. I acquired the rights to direct the remake of his film but since I haven’t directed before, I wanted director Ponraj to direct the film and he also showed interest. But due to some unavoidable circumstances, he could not do it and when I met Sukumar again, he once again asked me to direct the film and it is only because of him, this film materialised.”

Speaking about the actors, he said, “The heroine’s role requires a bubbly character and I was so apprehensive to cast Shalini Pandey in the role, but after seeing her performance in the auditions, I was stunned and she did justice to the role in the film. She is a fine actress. GV has done a tremendous performance and it is a role that he hasn’t done in films so far. I thank him for agreeing to do the film and believing in me.”
