Chennai, Aug 19: Chennai-based Indian Bank celebrated its 113th founding day on 15 August. The Bank which commenced its operations on 15 August 1907 as part of our nation’s Swadeshi Movement, completed 112 years of service.
In the celebrations in Chennai at IMAGE, the Bank felicitated social worker and customer of the Bank Padma Shri Dr S Rajaram of Sivananda Saraswathi Sevashram, rural reformist of Kuthambakkam Village Rangaswamy Elango and an acclaimed prodigy from Tirunelveli K Visalini.
Speaking on the occasion, MD & CEO of Indian Bank Padmaja Chunduru, urged the employees to renew their commitment to the cause of the Bank and work with passion to ensure customer satisfaction. She said, “The bank, in line with the recent direction of Government of India to all PSBs, has initiated the bottom-up consultative process for generation of innovative ideas born out of out-of-box thinking at the branch level.”
Executive Directors M K Bhattacharya and V V Shenoy also shared their viewpoints. Indian Bank also launched two new products, “Repo Linked Home Loan” and “Vehicle Loan” which will ensure instantaneous transmission of policy rate changes by RBI to the borrowers. The bank has also rolled out two new products with special features – Savings Bank Account for Senior Citizens “IB SAMMAN” and Retail Loan Scheme “IB Eco-Vahan”.
