State Medical team honoured for their work contribution to Athi Varadar fest

Chennai: State Health and Family Welfare Minister C Vijayabaskar in a bid to encourage government doctors, nurses and sanitary staff who toiled during the Kanchipuram Athi Varadar vaibhavam, felicitated them at an event in the temple town.

The department had organised 46 health camps and 196 doctors, 108 nurses and over 900 other employees were part of it.

After felicitating them, Vijayabaskar asserted that the department has taken steps to prevent any kind of break out in Kanchipuram.

Addressing media during another event in Chennai Wednesday, the Minister announced that linear oscillator equipment worth Rs 24 crore to treat cancer would be available in the government hospitals in Chennai and Madurai in 15 days.
He further added that the device would be made available in 10 other cities in Tamilnadu including Chennai and Madurai.

“Robotic surgeries are common in the West and required measures would be taken to bring it in State-owned institutions in Tamilnadu,” he said.
