Chennai: Chennai-based You are Loved and Amma Kalviyagam, the non-profit organisations in association with Coimbatore-based KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology are presenting the 4th edition of ‘Puratchiyalar Virudhugal’ for Tamilnadu Government School students and teachers 31 August.
State Minister for Municipal Administration and Rural Development S P Velumani will hand over the awards and certificates at a function to be held at KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore.
The NGO’s have tied up with the Tamilnadu High and Higher Secondary Headmaster’s Association who helped to identify 67 students across the 67 Education Districts of Tamilnadu and 33 teachers from the 33 Revenue Districts. Also, two parents and two NGOs will be awarded in the event. From Chennai education district, 15 students and three teachers have been selected, a press release said.
For students, the award is titled as ‘Maanava Puratchiyalar Virudhugal’, teachers – ‘Aasiriyar Puratchiyalar Virudhugal’, for parents – ‘Pettror Puratchiyalar Virudhugal’ and NGOs – ‘Samugha Puratchiyalar Virudhugal’.
The students and teachers were selected under seven different categories – science and innovation, literature, sports, social work, leadership, differently-abled people and music, the release said.
