Excerpts from her interview

Q: Why such a delay in entering Kollywood?
A: I was getting lots of from Tamil in mid 1990s, but somehow they didn’’t work out. Thankfully my wait ended with Asuran. It was the best thing to happen in my life. I know Dhanush for long. When he called me recently and asked me if I would be interested in being part of Asuran, I readily agreed. Working with the likes of Dhanush and Vetri Maaran, you can learn a lot.

Q: On sharing the screen with Dhanush.
A: He is a phenomenal performer. I know him for long and it was really comfortable to work with him.

Q: Is Vetri Maaran a taskmaster?
A: Everyone knows that he portrays women characters strongly. Every director has his own style. Whatever the filmmaker wants me to portray, I just follow. I try to show justice to it. It was fun working with him and I learnt a lot.

Q: How do you see heroines from Kerala making it big in Tamil cinema?
A: A right talent will always find recognition. I am not here for number game. Nayanthara is a popular actress here. She is very hardworking. I really like her. She is very popular and deserves to be where she is.
