Mishap at Chennai hospital, patients shifted out

Chennai, Sept: Patients of a private hospital at Anna Nagar were shifted to other hospitals after three electrical junction boxes in its premises collapsed leading to a power outage. The incident took place at 2.30 am today.

Police said, heavy rains led to the junction boxes to collapse. Power supply was entirely cut in the building. Adding to this, the rains led to one-feet water logging.

A team of four firemen led by Fire and Rescue Services Officer Officer Kalidas visited the hospital from JJ Nagar Fire Station.

With the help of 108 Ambulance Service and private ambulances, 22 patients- 12 men, nine women- and a child were shifted to three other hospitals. All of them are safe, sources said.
