Chennai: In a case of more skeletons stumbling out of the closet, three more MBBS students and their parents have been taken into the custody by CB-CID on suspicion of malpractice in NEET.
The students allegedly engaged impersonators to write NEET on their behalf to get enrolled in three private medical colleges in Chennai.
According to sources, the CB-CID detained Praveen of SRM Medical college, Rahul of Balaji Medical college and Abirami of Sai Satya Medical College.
The three were found to have got the seats based on marks scored by the impostors who appeared for the exams in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
Police found that the students paid Rs 20 lakh each to the persons who wrote the exams.
Sources said, except the photographs, all other credentials including name, age, marksheet, address and other entries in the application were that of the students.
The trio and their parents were taken into custody based on information given by K V Udit Surya who also cheated in a similar way in the NEET exam.
