Simbu starrer ‘Mufti’ to be dropped?

Chennai: After Vandha Rajavadhaan Varuven, Simbu began shoot for the Tamil remake of Kannda hit Mufti alongside Gautham Karthik. However he was reportedly unpunctual for shoot and he chose to skip the shoot in Karnataka. As a result, producer Gnanavelraja incurred loss. Mufti’s original director Narthan was roped in to helm the Tamil version. Buzz is that Gnanavelraja has filed a complaint against Simbu with the Tamil Film Producers Council. Sources say that the project is almost dropped.

Remember a few weeks ago, producer Suresh Kamatchi announced dropping his movie Maanadu starring Simbu. The actor had been to Bangkok and returned just a week ago. He announced that he would instead begin a movie titled Maha Maanadu which will be directed by himself and bankrolled by his father T Rajhender.
