Chennai: A Sub-Inspector of police passed away in the wee hours of today after suffering a heart attack.
K Sivakumar (55) was SI in the Law and Order, Chintadripet police station. He lived in Pudupet police quarters.
He was earlier an Special Sub Inspector at Aynavaram Police Station.
Last night, his wife noticed he was lying on the bed without any movement and rushed him to Apollo Hospital, but he died before reaching there.
For years, Shivakumar had been working towards establishing an association for Tamilnadu policemen.
He had also met several senior police officials and even moved the court to establish the association. He is survived by his wife and three children.
