Major fire at Sekar Reddy’s building in T Nagar

Chennai: A major fire broke out at the fourth floor of a building in Vijayaraghava Road, T Nagar this morning. The incident took place at JSR Castle building which houses JSR Infra developers Limited, which is run by J Sekar Reddy.

At 7.45 am, thick smoke began emanating from the building and the security staff alert the fire and rescue services.

Vehicles from fire stations in T Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Teynampet and Guindy were pressed into service. As many as 60 firemen worked for two hours to put out the fire. Three metro water lorries were also brought to the spot.

A hydraulic lift was also used by the personnel which stopped the fire from spreading. Fire Safety Officer, South Chennai District, Sayyed Mohammed said that no causalities were reported in the incident and the damage and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
