Xylem showcases new C&I meter

Chennai: Xylem showcased its new C&I meter for the first time at a one-day conference on “Solving Non-Revenue Water Challenge for Water Utilities” held here. According to a press release, the conference provided a platform for public water utilities and private water professionals of Tamilnadu to collaborate and deliberate on Non-Revenue Water (NRW).

When asked about possibility of adopting smart water management in India, senior marketing director, Xylem India Nitin Bhate said, “After several tests to check their permanence in different geographies and climate conditions, smart water meters have been launched validating their robust nature to meet the demands of different regions. Hence, smart water meters solution is patently relevant for India.”

This smart water management requires participation from all sections of society, said the company. “It is not an overnight process. But fortunately, we see increased awareness and willingness to look at the technology and solution options among the key stakeholders – public water utilities and private water professionals and we believe momentum is beginning to strenghen and investment in these technologies will soon gather pace,” said managing director, Xylem India, H Balasubramaniam.
