Chennai: The second cabinet meeting of this year will be chaired by Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami tomorrow at 10.30 am at the Secretariat here.
Sources said that the measures taken to tackle coronavirus will be major focus during the meeting. Apart from this, there will be discussions about the preparation of the Budget which will be presented in the Assembly in March.
”Since this is expected to be the full final budget before the 2021 Assembly elections, new announcements to be made will also be discussed during the meeting,” sources added.
Discussions are also expected to be held about the granting of permission to various industries to start business in the State. ”Conducting the local body polls for the urban areas. Key issues like the recently announced Union Budget, financial constraints, execution of the projects and the status of the ongoing schemes are to be discussed,” sources added.
It may be noted that during the first Cabinet meeting held in January, clearances were granted for more than half-a-dozen industrial projects.
