Mother, 2 kids found dead on railway track at Avadi

Chennai: In a shocking and mysterious case, a woman and her two children were found dead on the railway track near Hindu College, Avadi this morning.

According to police, the deceased were identified as Vijayalakshmi (22) and her sons Kavin Saran (2) and two-month-old Nishwanth.
Police said, Vijayalakshmi was married to Muthukumar (28), an ambulance driver at Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital and resident of Sekkadu, Avadi.

He fell in love with Vijayalakshmi while she was studying in college and later married her. Vijayalakshmi’s parents Nadamuni and Kanchana were initially against the marriage, but later accepted them.

Last evening, Vijayalakshmi had called Kanchana, but the former had cut the call during the middile of the conversation. Kanchana could not get through the line and sent Nadamuni to Sekkadu to inquire what had happened.

Muthukumar’s mother and his brother allegedly gave cold responses and said they did not know about the whereabouts of Vijayalakshmi and the children.

Subsequently, Nadamuni filed a missing complaint with the Avadi police, who found the bodies on railway track this morning. The bodies were sent to Government Kilpauk Hospital for post mortem. Police are investigating the cause of the deaths as it is not known if it was a case of suicide or murder.
