Chennai: The Business Advisory Committee of the Tamilnadu Assembly today decided that the the budget session will be held from 9 March to 9 April. The meeting headed by Speaker P Dhanapal took the decision today morning at the Secretariat.
The budget for financial year 2020-2021 was tabled in the House 14 February. Debate on the budget was held till 20 February. After that the Assembly was adjourned sine die.
Following this the Assembly Secretary recently notified that the second session of the budget will begin on 9 March. This is the last full year budget of the present AIADMK government.
Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam, who also holds the Finance portfolio, said Tamilnadu achieved growth of 8.17 per cent in 2018-19. He added that Tamilnadu will grow at 7.27 per cent for the 2020-21 fiscal. The AIADMK government will complete its term in May 2021.
