Be updated on tech, AU V-C tells architects

Chennai, Mar 4: Architects should always be open to continuous learning and keep themselves updated with the advancements in the industry and allied industries, said Anna University Vice-Chancellor M K Surappa.

Addressing at the fourth graduation day of Marg Institute of Design and Architecture Swarnabhoomi (MIDAS) at Vivekananda Convention Centre, MARG Swarnabhoomi, ECR recently, he said architects should be updated on technologies like robotics, 3d printing, 3d software, artificial intelligence, new materials, technology and integrate it with the classroom learning which paves way for a better society and smart cities.

He also emphasised that architects should think on what they can give back to the society which helped them to become architects.

Swarnabhoomi Academic Institutions promoter and Marg Group chairman and managing director GRK Reddy in his welcome speech spoke on how the industry is growing rapidly during the last decade.

MIDAS principal Shashank Chakradeo said the institution is aiming to start M Arch during 2020-2021.

A total of 85 students received their bachelor in Architecture degree certificates and students Singaravelan, Naveen Kumar R M and Ishwarya Suresh secured university ranks.
