Chennai: Jana Small Finance Bank Ltd launched its newest branch in Ramapuram of Chennai. With this, the small finance bank has now expanded its bank branch network to 36 in Tamilnadu. The bank is now serving over 6 lakh customers in Tamilnadu and has growing asset book size of more than Rs 2,000 crore and deposits of over Rs 1,000 crore, the bank said in a statement.
Inaugurating the branch, the chief guest for the occasion, chief general manager of NABARD, Padma Raghunathan said, ‘Jana Small Finance Bank has been serving the underbanked women of Tamilnadu for last 12 years and I am honoured to be a part of the bank’s journey today. Jana’s efforts in financial inclusion especially in rural and agricultural space are laudable. It gives me immense pleasure to note that NABARD’s vision is operationalized on-ground level by institutions like Jana Small Finance Bank. I wish the bank all the success.’
