Chennai: The city police are conducting inquiry on a petition submitted by actress Vijayalakshmi seeking action against Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) leader Seeman and his cadre for critcising her in obscene manner at public meetings.
Vijayalakshmi, a resident of Thiruvanmiyur, had come to the Commissioner’s office in Vepery along with her sister yesterday and lodged a complaint at the grievance cell. The complaint is being inquired by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Crime Against Women wing, Jayalakshmi.
Vijayalakshmi alleged that at many public meetings, Seeman and his cadre had referred to her as a ‘sex worker’. She said she has also been getting threatening calls from unknown persons.
The incident has affected her mentally, she said and sought police action against Seeman. It may be noted that in the past, Vijayalakshmi had accused Seeman of cheating her after promising to marry her.
She even released pictures of the duo while they were allegedly in a relationship as evidence. Vijayalakshmi, who has acted in Kannada, Tamil and Malayalam cinema, was part of Vaazhthukal directed by Seeman.
