Chennai: Just days after his meeting with Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM) district secretaries, actor-politician Rajinikanth has convened another meeting with them tomorrow.
Sources say that he will be taking some crucial decisions on forming his political party and they are expected to be announced tomorrow.
A week after he expressed a personal disappointment after meeting RMM office-bearers, Rajinikanth has reportedly lined up a few plans which he is expected to spell out tomorrow. Sources say that he might reveal his plan on when and where he would float his party.
Ever since Rajinikanth announced on 31 December, 2017 that he would start his party, contest the Tamilnadu Assembly elections in 2020 and fill the political void, expectations are high on when he would formally commence his political journey.
His meeting last week with RMM district secretaries was keenly watched by all. Sources said that in the hour-long meeting, Rajinikanth spoke to them about when to float his political party and ways and means to proceed further with their plans.
The senior office-bearers of the RMM briefed him of the various works including appointing members of booth committees in their wards, welfare measures initiated to reach out to the people among others.
Rajinikanth took suggestions on forming political party and how he should go about it from the district heads of RMM, sources said.
However addressing mediapersons after the meeting, Rajinikanth’s remarks that he was personally disappointed about one issue discussed at the meet, let loose lots of speculations.
A section of the press said that Rajinikanth wanted to head the party and was keen on making a more qualified person as Chief Minister. Fans were left disappointed.
Amidst such a scenario, the meeting tomorrow holds greater significance. All eyes would be on what Rajinikanth decides after the discussions.
Interestingly today, Rajinikanth’s friend and Tamilaruvi Mani drove to his Poes Garden residence and reportedly discussed about political strategies.
Also in the past couple of days, former MLA C K Thamizharasan’s and Congress MP S Thirunavikkarasar’s meetings with Rajinikanth had surprised many.
