Prince of Arcot recalls Prophet’s saying during epidemics

Chennai: At a community meeting of Muslim leaders, organised by Tamilnadu Chief Secretary K Shanmugam at the Secretariat here Friday, Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali, who participated in it, recalled the Holy Prophet’s sayings during the period of epidemics.

The Prince of Arcot said, the Holy Prophet has said that during the period of epidemics, such as contagious diseases like plague, persons should be kept away from those who are healthy, which includes quarantine and social distancing, travel ban, not harming others, staying at home, make house a mosque, face masking, wash hands and home quarantine. “The Prophet has adviced 1,400 years ago and today, the world is advising us in the same manner,” he said.

The Prince of Arcot urged the people to support the Central and State governments in their efforts in fighting to eradicate coronavirus and they should cooperate with doctors, nurses and police, who are treating the patients and controlling the public to maintain law and order respectively.

The Prince of Arcot praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami for their strict rules and norms being implemented, during the COVID-19 virus being spread.
