Chennai: Of the total 738 cases in Tamilnadu, the condition of five patients is said to be serious, while others are stable. Among the 738, who tested positive, included four doctors.
Tamilnadu is now second on India’s COVID-19 chart behind the worst-hit Maharashtra, where it crossed the 1,000 mark. Health Secretary Beela Rajesh said samples of 6,095 people were tested and results of 344 were awaited,
Beela Rajesh a total of 60,739 people were under home quarantine, 230 in government quarantine centres and 21, including two today, were discharged after treatment.
A total of 32,075 people have completed 28 days of quarantine. She said there was enough stocks of face masks in the state and all the 34 districts have been brought under surveillance. Of the 48 fresh cases Wednesday, 42 had participated in last month’s Tablighi Jamaat conference in Delhi.
