Chennai: DMK president M K Stalin today reached out to his party functionaries including MPs and MLAs through video conferencing and enquired about the present situation of coronavirus prevention works and distribution of relief materials across the State.
It may be noted the Stalin held disucssion with opposition party leaders via video conferencing recently. He has been posing various questions to the government on its anti-corona measures.
Recently, there was a word of words between Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Stalin and the former accused the latter of doing politics even at this critical time.
Stalin on Friday hit out at Palaniswami for his expectation that the number of fresh coronavirus cases will slide to zero, and demanded expeditious steps to procure equipment and carry out rapid testing, besides measures for treatment, relief and rehabilitation.
Palaniswami had said that the State was in the second stage of the spread, and Thursday’s new number of cases of 25, as against higher numbers in preceding days, showed that the State has managed to contain it. The Chief Minister had hoped the number of fresh cases will soon touch zero as the rate of people getting cured was also increasing. He hit out at Stalin for doing politics at this critical time.
