Popular producer Kathiresan’s Five Star Creations has bought the remake rights of hit Malayalam film, Ayyappanum Koshiyum, and actor Sasikumar has been roped in to play one of the leads.
There were speculations that the makers have signed actor Arya to play Prithviraj’s character in the Tamil version of the film.
However when contacted Arya, he denied the reports as rumours. “I am not a part of Ayyappanum Koshiyum Tamil remake,” he said.
Sources close to the makers say that only Sasikumar has been finalised for the project and they will announce the cast and crew in June post the lockdown. Major portions of the film will be shot in Ooty and Kodaikanal, where Ayyapanum Koshiyum was also filmed.
Ayyappanum Koshiyum was about an ego clash between a police officer named Ayyappan Nair, played by Biju Menon, and a retired havildar named Koshy Kurien, essayed by Prithviraj.
