Chennai: Royapuram, which is the worst-hit neighbourhood in the city by coronavirus, is inching closer to 4,000-mark. Currently, the locality has recorded 3,859 cases.
A press release from the Chennai City Corporation today shows an area-wise break up of Covid-19 figures. Till now, the city has had 22,149 cases since the lockdown.
After Royapuram, Tondiarpet is a high risk zone , where the virus has been spreading fast. There are 2,835 persons with the viral infection.
Teynampet, one of the areas where the virus out-break began, has 2,518 cases.
Kodambakkam, another red zone area, has 2,431 cases. Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, a containment zone, has hit a mark of 2,167 cases.
In Anna Nagar, 1,974 have tested positive for the viral infection. Adyar has 1,274 cases of Covid-19. There are a total of 1,054 Covid positive persons in Valsaravakkam, 807 cases in Ambattur and 813 patients in Thiruvottiyur.
There are 614 patients in Madharavam, 390 in Alandur and 415 in Perungudi and 400 Covid-19 in Shollinganallur. Manali has the least number of cases with 328 patients.
