Chennai: Chennai today continued to witness more number of Covid-19 cases and deaths. According to reports, 22 persons lost their lives today and the toll stands at 404.
Also, as testing is being conducted in a rapid manner, especially in red and containment zones, more number of people have been tested positive for coronavirus and the figures are set to cross 1,000 today too, sources said.
By standing next to Royapuram and Tondiarpet when it comes to Covid-19 cases in Chennai, Teynampet, which lies in Central Chennai, is giving a tough fight to North Chennai localities which are ruling the roost in the spread of coronavirus.
While Royapuram has recorded 5,364 cases so far, Tondiarpet has registered 4,226 and Teynampet 4,031 cases. Kodambakkam has emerged fourth with a total number of 3,539 infections.
According to a statement by Greater Chennai Corporation this morning, Anna Nagar currently has 3,330 cases, Thiru Vi Nagar has 2,992 cases, Adyar has 1,885 infections, Valasaravakkam has 1,413 positive persons and Thiruvotriyur has 1,224 Covid-19 cases.
