Chennai: Tamilnadu Higher Education Minister K P Anbazhagan has refuted reports which claimed that he was tested positive for Covid-19 and was admitted to a private hospital at Manapakkam in Chennai.
“I was suffering from ordinary fever only. I went to hospital only because of it. I have not tested positive for Covid-19. I am fine now,” he was quoted as saying by television channels.
Earlier, after reports claimed that he was tested positive for coronavirus, tension prevailed among top circles, as Anbazhagan had attended a Covid-19 preventive and control measures review meeting held at Rippon building on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Ministers including SP Velumani, D Jayakumar, R Kamaraj and C Vijayabaskar and senior officers including Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan, Greater Chennai Corporation Commissioner Prakash, Police Commissioner A K Viswanathan etc.
