Royapuram inches towards 6,000 covid-19 cases

Chennai: The city has recorded 38,327 cases of Covid-19. Royapuram, the most badly hit locality, is inching towards 6,000 cases. Currently it has recorded 5,981 cases.

A press release from the Greater Chennai Corporation today showed an area-wise break up with all districts witnessing an upward spike.

Tondiarpet, a hotspot, has high numbers of Covid-19 cases with 4,869 cases. Teynampet has recorded 4,652 persons testing positive. Kodambakkam, another red zone area, has 4,149 cases and the neighbourhood of Anna Nagar has 3,972 Covid-19 cases. The figures at Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar stand at 3,356.

Adyar has 2,204 cases of Covid-19. There are a total of 1,638 Covid positive persons in Valsaravakkam, 1,374 cases in Ambattur and 1,434 patients in Thiruvotriyur.

There are 1,046 patients in Madharavam, 808 in Alandur and 762 in Perungudi and 723 Covid-19 patients in Shollinganallur. Manali has the least number of cases with 547 patients currently.
