Total lockdown in 4 more districts of Tamilnadu?

Chennai: With the cases of Covid-19 intensifying, it looks like the Tamilnadu government may go for complete lockdown in four more districts of the State- Vellore, Thiruvannamalai, Ranipet and Madurai.

According to reports, since these districts have witnessed more number of infections in the past some days, it is being considered to impose total lockdown in these places.

Already, a total lockdown is on in Chennai and its neighbouring districts of Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpet. It will go on till 30 June.

Complete lockdown has been implemented in these districts from 19 to 30 June to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami recently announced that all rice-drawing ration card holders in Chennai, Thiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpattu districts will receive a monetary relief of Rs 1,000 amid the lockdown.
