Chennai: In an unexpected move, the Tamilnadu government today extended lockdown in the State till 31 July.
The announcement came hours after a medical expert team, after a meeting with Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, said that they have not recommended extension of lockdown.
While announcing the extension of lockdown in a statement tonight, the government however announced various relaxations.
It said the lockdown will be implemented without any relaxations in Chennai till 5 July. After that there will be relaxtations in the metropolis and the districts around it.
