TN govt allocates Rs 75.28 crore to provide oxygen pipelines to 59 hospitals

Chennai: With Covid-19 cases witnessing a rise in Tamilnadu, the State government is taking steps to improve the healthcare infrastructure.

It has allocated Rs 75.28 crore for the first phase of the work on the provision of oxygen pipelines to 59 government hospitals in the State, according to a press release.

The total number of coronavirus patients in Tamilnadu has increased to 94,049. The southern state is one of the worst-affected by Covid-19 pandemic after Maharashtra and Delhi.

At least 63 people have succumbed to death in Tamilnadu on Wedesday. The death toll in the state has risen to 1,264, according to the state health department. On the brighter side, over 52,000 coronavirus patients have recovered in the State.
