Chennai: The Central government will be conducting a review of the Covid-19 pandemic in Tamilnadu tomorrow.
A team led by Additional Secretary, Aarthi Ahuja will be visiting the city tomorrow.
They will hold meetings with Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, Health Minister Dr C Vijaya Baskar and Health Secretary, J Radhakrishnan.
It is said that the team will be reviewing the current situation including how the government was containing the spread of the virus. Case records, deaths, testing rates, actual situation of bed availability and PPEs will be reviewed by the team, a report said.
The team was deputed by Union Health Ministry to take stock of cities such as Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi and Bengaluru.
The city has been showing a decline in number of Covid-19 cases. Currently, there are 24,052 cases and 1,082 deaths since the lockdown in March.
