Malayalam movie Kappela, starring Roshan Mathew, Anna Ben and Sreenath Bhasi, released in theatres a few days before the lockdown was imposed. Though the film garnered great response from both audience as well as critics, it didn’t have a long theatrical run due to the novel coronavirus outbreak
The latest update is that the Telugu remake rights of the film have been secured by Sithara Entertainments, who recently produced Allu Arjun’s hit family entertainer Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. Interestingly, Sithara Entertainments had earlier bagged the remake rights of two hit Malayalam films – Ayyappanum Koshiyum and Premam.
Vishnu Venu, the producer of Kappela, took to social media to announce the same. He wrote, Announcing a happy news! Kappela is to be remade in telugu by Sithara Entertainments. Kappela is the third movie from malayalam industry after Premam & Ayyappanum Koshiyum to be bought by them! Expressing our sincere thanks to all well wishers for making our small movie a grand success! (sic).
