Chennai: With Minister for Co-operation Sellur K Raju testing positive for Covid-19, he has become the third Minister in Tamilnadu to get infected by the pandemic.
According to sources, it was his wife who was first test positive for coronavirus. “As he had accompanied his wife four days ago, he had sought to be tested on Thursday and the result returned positive for the infection,” they added.
Already, Higher Education Minister K P Anbalagan, Electricity Minister P Thangamani, a dozen legislators from the ruling AIADMK and the main opposition DMK had tested positive for the pandemic.
In a tweet, AIADMK coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam said that he prayed for the speedy recovery of Sellur Raju. He also appealed to people in public life to be careful and cautious while doing their duty.
