Chennai: Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami today said e-passes will be immediately given to workers from other States who are willing to come to Tamilnadu.
“Issuing of e-passes has been made easy. Companies which are planning to bring workers from other States can get e-passes immediately,” he said.
Palaniswami said the State was doing everything under its capacity to contain the spread of the coronavirus, and protect the public.
Media reports and political leaders have been highlighting the difficulties faced by the public in securing an e-pass. Reacting to this, the Chief Minister said the State government has reformed the e-pass system.
“The e-pass system is still being implemented to restrict unnecessary movement of people, which is the primary reason for the spread of the virus. As a result of this system, we have been able to bring down the caseload across districts,” he said.
