From Anna’s great granddaughter to Chinni Jayanth’s son clear civil services exam

Chennai: Recently the final results for the Civil Services examination for the posts of IAS, IPS and IFS conducted by the Union Public Services were declared and many from Tamilnadu scored good ranks.

Ganesh Kumar secured the seventh rank at all India level and first rank at Tamilnadu level.

Prithika Rani, the great granddaughter of former Chief Minister CN Anna Durai, secured all India rank 171 on her very first attempt. She has preferred the Indian Foreign Service as her first choice.

Poorana Sundari, a differently-abled aspirant from Madurai, secured the 268th rank at the all India level.

Sruthanjay Narayanan, son of actor Chinni Jaynath, secured the 75th rank at the all India Level. He tasted success on his second attempt to this exam.

Sangeetha from Dharapuram has an interesting story behind. She joined as a Sub-Inspector (Finger Print) in the Tamilnadu Police department last year. She prepared for both TNPSC Group I exam as well UPSC exam simultaneously while on the SI post. This year, she also cleared TNPSC Group I exam and she is now under the training in the Deputy superintendent of Police (DSP). In this juncture, she also cleared the civil service exam as well and secured 499th rank at all India Level.  It is expected that Indian Police Service would be allotted her. If it happens, then she will be the first women from Tamilnadu to undergo the journey from a SI to IPS in one and half years.

The above were trained at Shankar IAS Academy. The Tamilnadu government-run All India Civil Services Coaching Centre and former Chennai Mayor Saidai Duraisamy’s Manidhaneyam IAS Academy have also produced good results.
