Chennai: The deadly Covid-19 is not showing any sign of slowing down, this morning, the active cases is at 12,982, that is approximately 10 per centage.
The number of recovered cases is 1,07,492 and the recovery rate is at 88 per cent. The death rate is 2.08 per cent with 2,557 persons succumbing to the viral infection.
As part of rapid testing, on 21 August, as many as 12,982 persons were tested for Coronavirus. In Chennai, a total of 1,22,757 Coronavirus cases were recorded.

According to the data, Kodambakkam is back on the graph with the most number of active cases. Nearly 1,539 persons have the disease, Anna Nagar, a containment zone has 1,437 persons contracting the virus, Ambattur has 1,380 persons testing positive. At least 1,328 persons in Adyar have the virus and 1,185 persons in Valsaravakkam have tested positive.
The least number of active cases is in Manali with 144 testing positive. In Kodambakkam, as many as 12,382 persons have recovered.
The pandemic has affected more men than women, as per data, 60.24 per cent of the patients are male and 39.76 per cent are female.
Around 19.30 per cent of those contracting the virus is from the age group of 30-39 years of age.
