Chennai: While the Tamilnadu government has announced major relaxations by following the Central government’s Unlock 4.0, experts fear that this would further increase the spread of Covid-19 in the State.
“People should understand that the relaxations have been announced only to open the economy and not because the coronavirus spread has come down. In fact, the number of infections is increasing rapidly. They should understand this and take care of themselves with all precautions,” said Dr Sathya.
According to a physician with a private hospital, “it is true that the recovery rate is high in Tamilnadu. At the same time, cases are also steadily increasing. People should have this in mind before stepping out.”
From tomorrow, Tamilnadu will return to near pre-Covid normal with the government cancelling the requirement for inter-district e-pass, opening up shopping malls and cancelling the total lockdown it had enforced every Sunday for the past eight weeks.
