Chennai: M C Chandran, nephew of AIADMK founder and former Chief Minister M G Ramachandran, died of Covid-19 on Friday. He was 75 and the son of MGR’s elder brother M G Chakrapani.
Chandran, after testing positive for coronavirus infection, was being treated at Rajiv Gandhi Government General hospital in Chennai. But he died without responding to treatment.
AIADMK’s coordinator and joint coordinator, Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam and Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami have condoled Chandran’s death in a party release.
“We were grieved to learn that he has passed away not responding to the treatment,” they said and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
Palaniswami and Panneerselvam said they prayed to the Almighty to rest his soul in peace and give the family the strength to bear the loss and grief. AMMK chief TTV Dhinakaran also condoled the death of Chandran.
