DMK walks out from Assembly over NEP

Chennai: The main opposition DMK today staged walkout from the Assembly condemning the State government for not passing a resolution against the New Education Policy of the Central government.

Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami has said that a committee has been formed to reivew the new policy.

The Tamilnadu government had announced that a high level expert committee has been formed to study the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020 and make recommenations that were feasible for adoption.

The committee would be headed by Higher Education Department Secretary Apoorva and would have six members–two former Vice-Chancellors (VCs) and four VCs of State-run Universities.
