Mumbai: At least 10 people were killed and many others are feared trapped after a three-storey building collapsed at Bhiwandi in Maharashtra’s Thane. Rescue operations are under way.
As per the initial information, 31 people have been rescued from the rubble of the building in Patel Compound area. A child was among the 11 people rescued by National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) officials.
The accident in the city of Bhiwandi occurred around 3:40 am, local authorities said.
According to a civic official, the building, located at Narpoli’s Patel Compound near Dhamankar Naka, collapsed while the residents were asleep.
