New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi, during an interaction with farmers on Friday, said farm bills should be opposed to save India’s future.
He asked farmers the reason why they were afraid that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) would be done away with as a result of the bills that were passed in the recently concluded Monsoon Session of Parliament.
Farmers said they were afraid that they would be powerless when it came to demanding MSP from corporate players.
Rahul said, “The voice of the farmer is in the youth, it is there in the armed forces, in the police. There is immense power in the voice of the farmer. It was on the dint of this power that India had gained independence. Once again, today, the farmer’s voice will liberate India.”
He added: “We will lend our voice to the concerns of the farmers and join forces with them. Today, the entire country is with the farmers in their opposition to the farm laws.”
