Puducherry: Puducherry today posted 102 new Covid-19 cases. With this, the total infections in the Union Territory have touched 34,583.
Two more people affected by the pandemic died during the last 24 hours raising the toll to 590.
In a release, Director of Health and Family Welfare S Mohan Kumar said that the two deceased had complaints of diabetes and hypertension.
He said the fresh cases were identified at the end of examination of 3,792 samples.
He said 154 patients were discharged after treatment during last twenty four hours.
While 75 of the new cases were from Puducherry, eight each from Karaikal and Yanam and the remaining 11 cases were from Mahe.
Mohan Kumar said the fatality and recovery rates were 1.71 percent and 87.64 percent respectively in the union territory.
